Artist Barbara J. Black, director of the Desert Jewelry School, is currently offering courses at CVAC. Learn to make jewelry using sterling silver, copper and semi-precious gemstones. The school specializes in teaching beginning students and class size is limited to a maximum of 3 students. Other classes, such as riveting, fold forming, texturing, patinating, chainmaille weaving and Viking knit are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Studio bench time is also available for an additional charge.
The basic classes in the recommended order and the class project are:
Class 1: Soldering on Mondays (bracelet)
Class 2: Sawing on Wednesdays (pendant)
Class 3: Bezel making & stone setting on Fridays (ring)
Classes are from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Class fee is $75 and includes all tools and materials

Hot Glass is a complete glass studio, features a Denver Glass kneeling Kiln, 20 inch Glory hole, 130# Denver Glass Furnace, and all the tools you will need to complete any hot glass project.

At present, CVAC resident artists maintain a fully equipped kiln glass studio. With a variety of glass kilns and cold working equipment, classes in fused and cast glass will be offered periodically.

Join artist MLN17 for a series of printmaking workshops at CVAC. Classes are donation-based with a suggested minimum donation of $10 per class; 100% of the proceeds benefit CVAC. All supplies are provided. Registration is required, space is limited to 10 participants per class.
