For the past three years, CVAC has, and continues to work closely with the Riverside County Mental Health Department. On alternating Wednesdays, clients of the RCMHD visit the CVAC’s classroom where specifically designed Art projects are made. Hopefully, many of the finished projects will be exhibited in the annual May Is Mental Health Month exhibition hosted by CVAC. These informal art sessions provide a needed creative outlet for individuals diagnosed with mental disease. Sometimes simple, sometimes sophisticated, the works coming from the program always are meaningful and sincere.
CVAC also provides work space to a small group from the Harmony Center for training purposes in furniture refinishing. This program is meant as a training program so that participating individuals can learn a viable and income producing trade.
